I first encountered Budae Jjigae during a trip to South Korea. It was an amazing experience and also such a privilege to have done the trip together with mom. We shared some beautiful food and submerged ourselves in the local customs. South Korea carries so many wonderful memories for us.
I started making my own kimchi years ago. The benefit of making my own is three folds. I get to snack on fresh kimchi and that is a different taste profile altogether. Then it gets fermented and that is great for gut health. The third is when it gets to the right point of sour... I'll bring out my braiser, arrange the spam, meats, tofu, mushrooms, baked beans...etc as illustrated on the tea towel, and I will make a delicious meal out of it in the form of a beloved Budae Jjigae, steeped in hot and spicy kimchi and a trail of beautiful memories.

Wash instruction for best results:
Machine wash cold on gentle/delicate setting, using phosphate-free detergent. Machine dry on a low-temperature setting. Iron on the reverse side of the fabric.
